How long will grapevines grow?

Legthwise, how long can they grow? My neighbor has tons and tons of grapes and they keep coming to my yard. I usually just cut them back leaving the fruit, which they collect. Its not a hard job to cut them, but it is unnecessary work for me. What I want to do this year is that since some of the canes went trough my fence(wood fence), I want to train it so that I can have grapes for me and provide a fruitful fence for me. Also,, if at all can you answer the second question. How do I propagate the grape so I can plant it on MY yard.
